It’s St. Patrick's Day. Almost a foot of snow covers Windsor Park and we’re looking for something to lift our spirits. The infectious music of Ragus Live and Oliver does just that.
Less than two weeks ago, Kitch planned the first surprise for my 65th birthday, a visit to the Philadelphia Flower Show. What a wonderful experience.

Everything about this trip was first class. The flower show was spectacular. The Legends of Ireland theme was beautiful. The people we met were friendly and the entertainment provided by a group of 20-somethings from Ireland and a veteran performer named Oliver was just perfect. You can read all about the trip in the News and Notes section of the theater.
The excerpts you will see in this montage will give you some idea of the artistry, precision, dignity and class of the performers who took center stage six times a day at the flower show. It was a beautiful display of talent, creativity and passion.
Although the people in the flower show press office were very helpful, they did not bend the rules for us. We were not permitted to bring a tripod. Too many people walk the aisles of the flower show, and they do not want anyone blocking their way.

Everything you see was recorded by the oldest cameraman on the floor, and everything was shot hand held. If nothing else it proves that Dennis Harper is correct. "You don't turn your dreams over to the authorities at age 65...the thing about dreams is they don't retire."
Although we are not in production at the moment, Kitch and I decided to produce this piece as a St. Patrick's Day gift to everyone who watches The New Windsor Park Stories and those of you who have taken the time to offer help, encouragement and support for the series.
In the days ahead we will produce a special segment featuring some of the people we met at the flower show. This will include a visit with a wonderful group of students and their teacher who live in Delaware.
For the moment, we ask you to sit back and relax as we take you to Ireland via Philadelphia.
It's a dreadful day, cold and damp, but the sights and sounds of Ireland and the Philadelphia Flower Show will remind you that spring is less than a week away.
Happy St Patrick's Day.
